Henry V
Life and reign
Immortalized by Shakespeare, he renewed the Hundred Years War and won the battle of Agincourt in 1415 with an outnumbered army of longbowmen against French knights. The treaty of Troyes of 1420 named him heir to the French throne, but he died of dysentery in 1422, aged about 35, before he could inherit it.
