The longest reigning English royal house, from Henry II to Richard III, spanning 331 years and fourteen monarchs. Under it England gained common law, parliament, and the campuses of Oxford and Cambridge rose to fame. It ended on Bosworth battlefield in 1485, when the Tudor banner replaced it.
